Do Your Bills Look Incorrect?
You may have noticed that your gas bills have been larger than usual. You will shortly receive, if you haven’t already, a note from People’s Gas/North Shore and Constellation Energy regarding a billing problem that may have affected your invoices. Earlier this year, People’s Gas/North Shore implemented a new billing system which resulted in billing errors across the Chicago area. People’s Gas estimates that approximately 40% of all accounts have been affected.
We are working together with the Archdiocese of Chicago Real Estate and Facilities office as well as People’s Gas/North Shore, and Constellation Energy to facilitate a timely resolution. Unfortunately, the billing corrections (in the form of a credit) from People’s Gas/North Shore may take up to 4 months.
What can you do in the meantime?
You can continue to pay your current bills as is. We will work to have all billing errors corrected over the next few months.
If you know your bill is incorrect, you may short pay it based on your budgeted or historical usage. If you decide to short pay, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will make both Constellation and People’s Gas/North Shore aware.
Not sure whether your account has been affected?
If you are unsure whether your account has been affected, please email your RG numbers to our lead account manager at Constellation Energy, John Jambois, at John.Jambois@constellation.com, who can look up your accounts and let you know.
